The Violin Left Under the Seat at the Last Night of the Proms

The concert is over. The Royal Albert Hall is very big. It has red seats and a round ceiling. Tonight is a special concert. People cheer and wave flags. Now the people go home. The hall is quiet.

Rosa works at the hall. Every night, she checks the seats. She looks for bags and coats. Rosa walks down the steps. She looks left and right. Then she stops. Under seat 14, there is a small brown case. It is a violin case. Rosa picks it up. She opens it. Inside, there is an old violin. There is a small paper inside. It says: 'For my daughter. Her first violin. — Papa.'

Rosa takes it to the office. One hour later, the phone rings. A man says, 'My name is David. Is my daughter's violin there?' Rosa smiles. 'Yes,' she says. 'It is safe.' The man is happy. Rosa is happy, too.
