Korean Sentence Analyzer

Break down Korean sentences with attested story vocabulary, possible particle splits and common conjugated forms. Compare meanings in Inklingo’s existing sense-based library.

  1. Paste a short Korean sentence.

  2. Analyze its vocabulary and supported forms.

  3. Open a word to compare meanings and real story examples.

Local learning aid: matches attested story word forms, selected conjugations and possible noun-particle splits. It is not a full syntactic parser, translation service or grammar checker. A match does not prove which sense is intended.

For topic versus subject, see UBC’s explanation of Korean subjects and topics.

A little understanding goes a long way

Make sense of what you’re practicing

01

Look for the predicate

Korean commonly places its main predicate near the end. 배워요 is a polite form of 배우다. Subjects and objects can be omitted when the context supplies them, so a sentence does not always contain an explicit equivalent of every English word.

02

Particles are clues, not a translation

학교에서 can be 학교 plus 에서, marking the place where an action happens. 은/는 often marks a topic or contrast; 이/가 often marks a subject or focus. Their meaning depends on context, so this tool labels possible splits rather than claiming one universal English equivalent.

03

Compare the actual senses

The same written form can have several meanings. Vocabulary matches come from the structured sense bundles used by Inklingo’s story reader. Open the linked vocabulary entry to see the meanings separately, with their source examples and story links.
