The Pages in the Box

Leo quickly hides behind a big plant. A security guard walks past the door. The guard does not see him. Leo is quiet. Soon, the guard is gone.

Leo goes back to the table and opens the clean box. Inside, there is no treasure. There is a small, old diary. He opens it. The first page says: "My name is Arthur. I am a botanist at Kew. The war is here, and I must hide my work."

Arthur is Leo’s great-grandfather! Leo reads the pages. Arthur writes about a new, special flower. But the last pages are different. The writing is a strange code. Leo cannot read it. Tucked in the last page is one small, dry flower. He looks at it. He does not know this flower. He feels very curious.
