How to use slower playback
Reduce the speed briefly to identify word boundaries or a difficult phrase. Replay at normal speed afterward. Slower playback is a learning aid, not a different recording or a new transcript. Highlighting follows existing word timings; unreliable matches remain unhighlighted.
Choose a useful difficulty
Use the story’s reading band as a starting point, not a certified listening score. Listening can feel harder than reading at the same band. Drop to an easier excerpt if you cannot follow the situation after two listens. For extensive practice, continue into the full story rather than repeating the quiz alone.
