One word for both genders
In Spanish, words ending in '-ista' usually don't change their ending. To show if you're talking about a man or a woman, just change the word 'the' or 'a' in front of it: 'el pianista' (the male pianist) or 'la pianista' (the female pianist).
Always ends in 'a'
Even when talking about a man, the word still ends in 'a'. Never say 'pianisto'!
The 'Pianisto' Error
Mistake: “El pianisto es bueno.”
Correction: El pianista es bueno. (The word 'pianista' never changes its ending to 'o' for men.)
