How to Say "to await" in Spanish
The Spanish word for “to await” is “aguardar” — B1 level.

Examples
Te aguardo en la entrada del cine.
I'm waiting for you at the cinema entrance.
Los pasajeros aguardan la llegada del tren con paciencia.
The passengers are waiting for the train's arrival with patience.
Debemos aguardar el momento oportuno para hablar con el jefe.
We must wait for the right moment to speak with the boss.
No 'For' Needed
In English, we say 'wait FOR someone.' In Spanish, aguardar doesn't need a word for 'for.' You just wait someone: 'Te aguardo' (I wait you).
Formality Matters
Use 'aguardar' when you want to sound more professional or literary. In a cafe with friends, 'esperar' is much more natural.
Don't add 'por'
Mistake: “Aguardamos por el autobús.”
Correction: Aguardamos el autobús. The verb already includes the idea of 'waiting for' something.
