How to Say "to fry" in Spanish
The Spanish word for “to fry” is “freír” — A1 level. This is a very common word in everyday Spanish.

Examples
Me gusta freír las patatas con aceite de oliva.
I like to fry the potatoes with olive oil.
Estamos friendo el pescado para la cena.
We are frying the fish for dinner.
Si quieres que queden crujientes, tienes que freírlas a fuego alto.
If you want them to be crunchy, you have to fry them on high heat.
The 'E' to 'I' Swap
This verb is tricky! In many forms, the 'e' in the middle changes to an 'i'. For example, 'I fry' is 'frío', not 'freo'.
Two Special Past Forms
This verb has two ways to say 'fried.' 'Freído' is the regular version used with 'haber' (I have fried), but 'frito' is much more common, especially when describing something (like 'fried eggs').
Using 'E' instead of 'I'
Mistake: “Yo freo las patatas.”
Correction: Yo frío las patatas. Because the spelling changes in the present tense, the 'e' becomes an 'í' with an accent mark.
