How to Say "stair" in Spanish
The Spanish word for “stair” is “escalón” — A2 level. This is a very common word in everyday Spanish.

Examples
Ten cuidado, el último escalón está roto.
Be careful, the last step is broken.
Subí los escalones de dos en dos para llegar rápido.
I went up the steps two at a time to get there quickly.
Se sentó en el primer escalón de la entrada.
He sat down on the first step of the entrance.
The Disappearing Accent
When you have just one, it's 'escalón' (with an accent). When you have many, it's 'escalones' (no accent). This happens because the natural stress stays on the 'lo' sound, so the written mark is no longer needed.
Always Masculine
Even if a staircase (una escalera) is feminine, the individual steps (los escalones) are always masculine.
Step vs. Step
Mistake: “Using 'paso' for a stair step.”
Correction: Use 'escalón' for a physical object you climb, and 'paso' for the movement your foot makes when walking.
