例文
Ese viaje merece la pena.
That trip is worth the trouble. → その旅行は手間をかける価値がある。
El esfuerzo merece la recompensa.
The effort is worth the reward. → その努力は報酬に見合う価値がある。
No merece el tiempo que le estás dedicando.
It's not worth the time you are giving it. → それに費やしている時間に見合う価値はない。
MerecerとValerの違い
「merecer」は努力、尊敬、功績に対して使います。「valer」は価格、費用、物理的な価値に対して使います。
「～する価値がある」の表現
間違い： “Merece. → 「それは価値がある」と言いたいときに、不完全な表現になる。”
正しい表現： Merece la pena. スペイン語では、「それは値する」とだけ言うことはできません。「それは手間（la pena）に見合う」と言う必要があります。
