Harakat at a glance
Short vowels are written above or below a consonant. Shadda doubles a consonant and can combine with a vowel. Tanwin often marks an indefinite noun; its ending depends on grammatical case. These marks are distinct from hamza (ء), which this tool preserves.

Why one spelling has several readings
Arabic normally omits short vowels. كتب can represent kataba (he wrote), kutiba (it was written), or kutub (books). A corpus example shows a possible reading, not proof of the meaning in a new sentence. Words with alternatives remain unchanged until you choose.
Case endings need sentence context
A noun may end in ـُ, ـَ, or ـِ depending on its role, definiteness, and construction. This editor retrieves recorded forms; it does not parse your sentence or assign grammatical case. Check endings and proper names before using the result in teaching materials.
Your spelling stays intact
The tool preserves spaces, punctuation, hamza, and existing vowel marks. It only offers compatible recorded readings. Unknown words remain unchanged. You can add fatha, kasra, damma, sukun, shadda, and tanwin manually in the result editor.
MSA, dialects, and source coverage
The suggestions come from Inklingo’s Modern Standard Arabic story corpus, not an exhaustive dictionary. Dialect, poetry, religious recitation, and specialist terminology require other references. Text is sent to this site’s read-only suggestion endpoint and is not placed in URLs or published as a page.
