What does this Chinese level test cover?
The 24 original questions cover vocabulary, grammar and reading, from basic identities and dates to connected sentences and inference. There are six questions in each of four bands and eight questions per skill. Both writing scripts are available.
How is the result calculated?
A band is treated as secure when you answer at least five of six questions correctly, and every earlier band must also be secure. The resulting recommendation points to an Inklingo story range. Skill counts show where your answers were stronger or weaker.
Is this an official HSK placement test?
No. It is an informal, uncalibrated written diagnostic, not an official exam or a prediction of your HSK score. It does not assess listening, speaking or handwriting. Use the result alongside real reading and listening experience, and a teacher’s assessment when needed.
Make the next practice session useful
Read the explanation for each missed answer and try a suggested story. If you constantly need translation, choose an easier story; if you understand comfortably, move up. Retaking the same questions measures familiarity as well as improvement.
