Make sense of what you’re practicing
Chinese groups large numbers in four digits
万 means 10,000 and 亿 means 100,000,000. Thus 10,001 is 一万零一, and 100 million is 一亿. The converter supports up to sixteen integer digits, using 兆 for 10¹², and twelve decimal places without floating-point rounding.
When should I use 二 or 两?
二 is used in counting, digits, ordinals and tens such as 二十二. 两 commonly appears before measure words and may appear before 百, 千, 万 or 亿. The optional 两 setting changes those positions; it does not rewrite every 二. Formal financial numerals use 贰 or 貳.
Decimals, years and financial numerals
After 点, read digits individually, including trailing zeros. Years and identifiers are also often read digit by digit. Financial forms such as 壹、贰、叁、拾、佰、仟 reduce alteration risk, but this tool does not format monetary documents or calculate currency amounts.
Ambiguous shorthand needs context
Colloquial 一百二 can mean 120, while the explicit 一百零二 means 102. The reverse converter rejects that shorthand and asks for explicit units. A numeral converter does not supply measure words, date grammar or the context-specific way a phone number is spoken.
