قَالَ حَسَنٌ: «تَوَقَّفَتِ الرِّيحُ.»

Hassan said, “The wind has stopped.”

الجَوُّ بَارِدٌ اليَوْمَ.

قَالَ رَاشِدٌ: «هَذَا خَطِرٌ، وَالْعَاصِفَةُ قَرِيبَةٌ.»

اليَوْمَ، يَأْتِي ضَبَابٌ كَثِيفٌ.

أَصْبَحَتِ الْغُيُومُ سَوْدَاءَ وَثَقِيلَةً، وَبَدَأَتِ الرِّيَاحُ تَهُبُّ بِقُوَّةٍ.

The clouds became black and heavy, and the winds began to blow strongly.

نَظَرَا مَعًا إِلَى الْأُفُقِ الَّذِي بَدَأَتِ السَّمَاءُ فِيهِ تَسْتَعِيدُ صَفَاءَهَا، وَشَعَرَا بِأَنَّ شَيْئًا مَا بَيْنَهُمَا قَدْ تَغَيَّرَ إِلَى الْأَبَدِ، فَقَدْ صَارَا أَكْثَرَ تَقْدِيرًا لِقِيمَةِ الْحَيَاةِ وَلِأَهَمِّيَّةِ الثِّقَةِ الْمُتَبَادَلَةِ بَيْنَ الْغَوَّاصِينَ.

أَصْبَحَ لَوْنُهَا بُرْتُقَالِيًّا غَرِيبًا، وَشَعَرَ سَالِمٌ بِرِيحٍ قَوِيَّةٍ تَضْرِبُ وَجْهَهُ.
