For comprehension, listen once without text and identify the people, setting or problem. Replay to check a detail, then answer the questions. For dictation, use the sentence boundary controls, compare the written forms, and retry the parts you missed.
Levels are the source stories’ reading levels, not a certified listening placement. Ten opening excerpts cover A0–B2. Audio and word timings come from the existing Russian stories; only reliably aligned sentences are offered for dictation.
Make sense of what you’re practicing
Listen for meaning before checking words
On the first listen, identify who is speaking or acting and what is happening. You do not need every word to follow the scene. On the second listen, look for a detail that supports your understanding, then check the transcript.
Use dictation to notice endings
Russian case and verb endings can be short and unstressed. Writing a sentence from the recording helps you notice what you heard versus what you expected. Replay at a slower speed, compare the source spelling and try the sentence again.
Short excerpts lead into longer reading
