Why Spanish Accents Matter
Pronunciation
Accents show which syllable to stress when speaking. Without them, words may be mispronounced or misunderstood.
Meaning
Accents can completely change meaning: "papa" (potato) vs "papá" (dad), "si" (if) vs "sí" (yes).
Proper Writing
Correct accent usage is essential for formal Spanish writing and demonstrates language proficiency.
