Recall before speed
Type the reading from memory instead of guessing from choices. A short session with five characters makes it easier to notice what you actually remember.
More than the basic 46
Add voiced sounds such as が and ぱ, then combinations such as きゃ. Small ゃ, ゅ and ょ combine with an i-row sound; they are not separate full-sized syllables.
Accepted spellings
Hepburn readings such as shi, chi and tsu are shown. Common alternatives such as si, ti and tu are accepted. を accepts wo or o; in sentences the particle is pronounced o.
