Four similar shapes, four different sounds.
Make sense of what you’re practicing
Notice the look-alikes
シ (shi) and ツ (tsu), or ン (n) and ソ (so), can look very similar. Use the focused challenge to learn their shapes together, then practice them in words.
Listen for long vowels
Katakana often writes borrowed words. The mark ー lengthens the previous vowel: コーヒー is koohii. A small ッ marks a pause before a doubled consonant, as in カップ (kappu).
Keep your progress separate
Your katakana recall is saved separately from hiragana on this device. Three correct recalls in a row mark a character as familiar; a mistake brings it back into focus.
